The 25-year-old suffered the brutal injury during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Haliburton started that contest fast and furious, scoring nine points a little over halfway through the first quarter.
However, with 4:55 left in the first quarter, Haliburton fell to the floor as he drove to the basket, forcing him to leave the game immediately. He finished the contest after only seven minutes of action and shot 3-of-5 from the field.
All his points came from beyond the arc.
Haliburton's injury was a tough blow for the Pacers title chances and their chances this season. Before the start of the season, the Pacers ruled out Haliburton for the season.
When that came to light, the Pacers weren't expected to do much this season, and that has been the case. After winning 50 games last season, the Pacers have only been able to muster 18 wins; it will be their worst season since the 2021-22 season, when they won only 25 games.
The expectation for the Pacers next season is to be a juggernaut in the Eastern Conference. Haliburton's absence was a major reason for Indiana's shortcomings this season.
The former Iwoa State Cyclone has been a revelation for the Pacers. Haliburton has transformed himself into an elite playmaker and scorer.
On top of that, he's been one of the best clutch players in the league, as he showcased throughout the 2025 playoffs.
