Orioles urged to reunite with 4-time All-Star for his postseason experience

The Baltimore Orioles had a disappointing postseason after getting eliminated by the Kansas City Royals in the American League Wild Card. As they look to make a deeper run in 2025, they will need to lock up one of their own postseason stars.

FanSided's Nicholas Cinnamo urged the team to reunite with Corbin Burnes in free agency to help them make a World Series run in 2025.

"Interestingly, he has experience both relieving and starting in the playoffs with the Brewers, displaying his versatility. He also threw an eight inning, one run gem against the Royals in his only playoff appearance with the O's (which he lost 1-0 since the O's lineup did nothing)," wrote Cinnamo. "There are, of course, many reasons to re-sign Burnes, and his playoff performance and overall resilience on the mound makes him even more compelling."

Burnes is the best available starting pitcher on the market. He was a key player for the Orioles in 2024. He had a 2.92 ERA in 2024 and struck out 181. He is a four-time All-Star and National League Cy Young Award winner. His ERA last season was the best since his 2.43 ERA during his Cy Young Award season.

Burnes has a 2.33 postseason ERA and allows a .178 batting average. He will likely look for a deal that exceeds Max Fried's deal with the New York Yankees. Losing Burnes would be a big blow to the Orioles. Burnes is clearly their best option, but will they be willing to pay him nearly $200 million?
