Orioles once again listed among top landing spots for Braves Ace

The Baltimore Orioles won 91 games during the regular season and secured the top American League Wild Card spot, but were eliminated quickly in the first round by the Kansas City Royals.

To make matters worse, Corbin Burnes is now a free agent, and he'll have a ton of teams lining up to bid for his services. Baltimore could be priced out.

Fortunately, the free agent market has no shortage of top-level starters that could help them, and if they make an attempt to sign another one, they could easily replace Burnes.

Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer listed them as the fourth-best fit for left-hander Max Fried.

"The Orioles? Spending big in free agency?

It's not a familiar story, but this is the first offseason in which they'll have access to new owner David Rubenstein's estimated $4 billion in net worth.

And for now, GM Mike Elias is talking a good game about pursuing pitching," Rymer wrote.

"As an Oriole, Fried would fit nicely into the rotation spot left vacant by Burnes. And chances are he would enjoy pitching at Oriole Park at Camden Yards."

Fried won't come cheap, but new owner David Rubenstein may be a little more lenient with spending than previous owner John Angelos was.

The 30-year-old left-hander won 11 games and posted a 3.0 WAR in 29 starts along with a 3.25 ERA. He also pitched 174 1/3 innings and struck out 166 batters.

He has a strong track record of pitching well in big games, especially in the postseason, having won the clinching Game 6 of the 2021 World Series for the Atlanta Braves.

Signing him could help soften the potential blow of losing Burnes in free agency, and it will be interesting to see if Baltimore is in the mix for the lefty.
