The Baltimore Orioles' bullpen has dealt with injuries all season. Despite being battered and bruised, the Orioles' bullpen is 10th-best in baseball in ERA (3.46) and tied for fourth in saves (nine).

Winners of two straight games against the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals, the bullpen will be getting one of its regulars back in Game 2 versus the Red Sox.

The Baltimore Orioles activate Keegan Akin for Game 2 against the Boston Red Sox

According to the Orioles on X, left-hander Keegan Akin will return to the bullpen, as he was activated from the injured list on Saturday. Akin was placed on the injured list in March after suffering a left groin strain.

To clear a spot on the active roster for Akin, the Orioles optioned right-hander Cameron Foster to Triple-A Norfolk. Foster, 27, threw two innings, striking out one and walking one in the Orioles' 10-3 win over the Red Sox.

Akin's return will give manager Craig Albernaz another left-hander in his bullpen, as Grant Wolfram was the only one in use. Left-hander Dietrich Enns is another left-hander in the Orioles bullpen, but he has also been on the injured list since early April with a left foot infection.

Akin has spent his entire career with the Orioles and has done well. The 31-year-old is coming off back-to-back solid seasons out of the bullpen, having a 3.32 ERA with six holds in 66 games, while having a 3.41 ERA with 16 holds last season.
