MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — OneShield, a leading provider of core insurance technology solutions for property and casualty insurers and MGAs, has appointed Rick Becker as Senior Vice President, New Products. The newly created role is focused on bringing new capabilities to market for OneShield customers, extending work the company already has underway.

Becker brings decades of experience leading technology, operations, and product organizations across the P&C insurance industry. He has held President, COO, CDO/CIO, and EVP roles at companies including DUAL North America, Align Financial Holdings, MAPFRE USA, and AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. His career spans building digital insurance platforms from the ground up, integrating complex MGA operations at scale, and converting legacy underwriting into configurable, data-driven systems.

Becker’s appointment reflects OneShield’s continued investment in practical tools its customers can put to work. “We did not hire Rick to fill a gap. We hired him to raise the bar,” said Tony Villa, CEO of OneShield. “Rick has spent decades on the customer side of our industry, running the exact businesses our software supports. That perspective, combined with his hands-on work with AI, is what we want driving new capability into our customers’ hands.”

The appointment comes during a period of accelerated growth for OneShield across its P&C insurer and MGA base. The company is building a set of AI-native capabilities for underwriting, claims, and billing operations, designed to go into production without disruption to the systems customers run today. Further announcements are planned as that work reaches customers.
