OnePlus launched the Turbo 6 in China back in January, and now a tipster on Weibo has shared the first details about its successor. According to the source, the Turbo 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, which is still being refined, and OnePlus is allegedly vying to be among the first to launch a phone with it.

The Turbo 7 is also said to continue OnePlus' push to bring a 200MP main camera and a 185Hz refresh rate (165Hz system-wide) to more of its phones. It will reportedly have a glass body but no periscope telephoto camera, and the tipster says the handset will launch by the end of the year.

That's the same main camera resolution and screen refresh rate as on the OnePlus 16, as well as the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro, which were announced in China with cooling fans and 185Hz displays last week. The Turbo 6, on the other hand, has the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 165Hz screen, and a 50MP main camera, so on paper this would be quite the upgrade.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 hasn't been announced yet, but the upcoming chipset will either be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro, according to a previous leak. In late October, Digital Chat Station said that a OnePlus Turbo Pro is on the way around the end of the year with that chipset, a 6.78-inch 1.5K 185Hz screen, a 200MP main camera, and a battery of at least 9,000 mAh. So it's quite possible that both of these leaks are about the same phone, keep that in mind.
