One of Caitlin Clark's biggest rivals makes her feelings on Fever star crystal clear

Back in June 2024, Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever fans were on fire — but for once in the 2024 season, they weren't upset about an interaction between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Former Sky guard Chennedy Carter was at the center of the story instead. Carter was roundly condemned after a full-body check that put Clark on the floor during a June 1 game. At the time the foul was determined to be a common foul by game officials, who eventually upgraded it to a flagrant foul.

As Clark herself put it, "That's just not a basketball play."

Carter, who has been playing in China during the WNBA offseason, was dismissed from the Sky at the conclusion of last year's season and hasn't been picked up by another team so far this year. In an interview with n3on shared online this week, Carter explained that she's since adjusted her feelings about Clark and the Fever.

Carter explained that "in basketball" players talk "smack" — and the play in question was just part of the game. "I think a play before, maybe I was elbowed, okay, that happens. Think the next play down, maybe something was said. And then maybe there was a little clip of somebody yelling in my face. And then we go down the court, then I hit a little bucket," she said.

She then gave Clark a little "I'm here" bump, Carter added, that's "just one of those things."

"I'm a great player, she's a great player," Carter said of Clark. "It looks a certain way, everybody's gonna have their views on it. But my personal view is, I don't have anything against her."
