When it comes to ONE Championship, the promotion has been dominated by fighters from Asia for many, many years. Recently, though, there has been a bit of a change in that, as Russian fighters are taking over.
Kiamran Nabat believes that is because his fellow countrymen are some of the best in the world - and they continue to show just that.
Nabat headlines the next ONE Championship The Inner Circle event, which takes place Friday. He faces Yod-IQ from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The Inner Circle portion streams exclusively on the ONE website with ONE Friday Fights 155 streaming on YouTube and Facebook.
'Russian fighters are some of the best in the world'
"Russian fighters are some of the best in the world, and the results across all major promotions prove it," he said. "Russian fighters dominate, so nothing changed after coming to ONE Championship."
The last time Nabat competed was in January 2025 vs. Ferrari Fairtex at ONE Friday Fights 95. He owns a kickboxing and Muay Thai record of 22-0 with a no-contest, which came in that bout vs. Fairtex.
During the break between bouts, Nabat has been improving his skills at Archangel Michael Fight Club. He was a highly successful amateur in Muay Thai, winning gold multiple times at both the Russian Muaythai Championships and the Russian Muaytahi Cup.
"I've grown tremendously as a professional athlete," he said. "I've gained a lot of skills and knowledge, and I train with some of the best fighters. We have a large and highly professional team, and that atmosphere, along with the constant competition in sparring, pushes everyone to improve."
Among the list of names he owns wins over, Nabat has bested Pongsiri P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym and Nong-O Gaiyanghadao under the ONE Championship banner.
