Once Human: How to beat all Arena Masters in Phase 1

The latest collaboration event of Once Human with Palworld introduces a new and fun gameplay mode where you get to participate in tactical battles with your Deviations against Arena Masters. In Phase 1, you will face off against a set of powerful opponents across multiple arenas. Each of these arenas requires certain strategies and a balanced team setup.

In this guide, we will break down how you can defeat every Arena Master in Phase 1, how to increase your Symbiosis level, and how to prevail in the Chaos Trials.

Once Human: Phase 1 Arena Masters overview

Phase 1 starts when you arrive at Verdant Arena. Here you will face Chaos Kitty. This challenge is designed to introduce you to the systems, how the battles work, and teach you the basics of commanding your Deviations in these arenas.

Chaos Kitty is accompanied by weaker creatures under their command: Logging Beaver and Dr. Teddy. But before the encounter begins, look for suitable blueprints like the Soaker Outsider. It is an early to mid-game rifle that complements the attacks of your Deviations.

Battle strategy:

• When the battle begins, command all your Deviations to charge in and attack Chaos Kitty directly.
• Keep focus firing on Chaos Kitty to finish the fight quickly.

When the fight ends, you will get your early Symbiosis experience and access to other higher-level arenas in the game.

How to raise your Symbiosis Level

To progress in the Palworld x Once Human event, you must raise your Symbiosis Level. The level of your Symbiosis determines the level of Deviations you can command in battle, new crafting recipes, and access to higher-level arenas.

Reaching level 4 Symbiosis is a must, as it unlocks a few tools that are necessary when challenging tougher Arena Masters.

• Capture Device III: Allows you to capture stronger Deviations, which you will encounter in the Agate Tundra region.
• Synthesis Bench: This is a must-have upgrade, as it allows you to craft some specific items, such as Psi Potion (restores Psi Energy of nearby allied Deviations) and Life Potion (heals all nearby Deviations by 50%). Both of these items are essential when encountering tough bosses.

The materials required to craft these items can generally be found in high-level areas such as the Agate Tundra.

Best Deviations to have for the Phase 1 arenas

A well-built team is necessary if you are to take down high level arena masters. For this, you will need to capture and level up capable Deviations. Some of them can be acquired near the Green Field Teleport Tower.

For the first phase, prioritize capturing these Deviations:

• By-the-Wind: Uses wind-based abilities to interrupt attacks and control crowds.
• Polar Jelly: Deals massive amounts of frost AoE damage.
• Rainman: Calls forth a constant downpour at specific locations.

This is a highly balanced team, set to inflict both AoE and single-target damage, perfect for clearing early and mid level Arena Bosses.

How to defeat the Phase 1 Arena Master

1) Chaosaurous Rex (Hot Springs Arena)

Recommended level: 25

This flame-engulfed enemy is known for its destructive flaming attacks and persistent burn DoT effects. The best trick to handle the Chaosaurous Rex is to position yourself somewhere higher. Look for rocky structures in the arena and climb them. This allows both you and your Deviations to avoid incurring direct damage.

2) Chaos Snowsprite (Agate Tundra Arena)

Recommended level: 45

The Chaos Snowspite uses massive frost-based AoE and inflicts slowing on your team. So the best way to deal with the Chaos Snowsprite is to maintain distance and spread out. Use obstacles nearby for cover wherever the Chaos Snowsprite goes for its slam attack. So avoid incoming damage and wait for your chance to attack, rather than rushing it.

3) Mr. Wish (Final Arena Master)

Upon reaching Symbiosys Level 1750, you will unlock the last Arena Master of Phase 1, Mr. Wish. This fight might sound and look intimidating, but it's actually about endurance. Use the most powerful Deviations you have for this fight. Make sure to avoid getting hit by Mr. Wish, as he can down you in just a few hits. Winning this fight unlocks Chaos Trial, the final phase of this event.

What are Chaos Trials in Once Human?

Once you have defeated Mr. Wish in the arena battle, you will unlock these Chaos Trials. These are much more difficult than the regular arena battles. But you can use the same strategy on the chaos variants as you have on the regular ones.

In these trials, you will be pitted against level 60 enemies while being capped at level 50. Winning in these events is the only way to get the Chaos Coins, the true prize of this event.

You will get 60x Chaos Coins from each Chaos Trial, and you will need 300x Chaos Coins to purchase the Chaos Mutagen. This mutagen is the only way to create and get the Chaosaurus Rex using the fusion system.

Tips and tricks to complete Phase 1

• Always command your Deviations to target the Arena Master for maximum efficiency, while you support them from a distance.
• Have both Psi and Life potions on hand to support your Deviations whenever possible.
• Always aim for reaching an elevated spot to minimize incoming AoE damage.
• Set Deviation Ultimates to Auto to deploy them whenever they are available without delay.
• Capture high level Deviations and level them up early on to gain a significant advantage against Arena Masters.
