The Cleveland Browns have ended the legendary NFL draft slide of quarterback Shedeur Sanders after taking him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
The pick was unexpected to say the least, as the Browns had already taken Oregon signal-caller Dillon Gabriel in the third round, which many rightly believed had cancelled them out of the Sanders market.
However, this is the Browns and we should've known better than to rule anything out for them, including drafting two quarterbacks.
In the wake of the Sanders pick for the Browns, things got a bit awkward when an old Deion Sanders tweet resurfaced. The tweet saw Sanders warning young quarterbacks to avoid Cleveland at all costs, and he even went as far as to say that they should pull an Eli Manning.
"I love what the Browns have done this offseason but if I'm a young QB, ain't no way I'm going to Cleveland. I would pull a ELI MANNING if possible," Sanders wrote.

Well, we're sure that Sanders' tone has changed now that his son is in Cleveland. He's probably that happy that Shedeur got drafted at all, landing spot be damned.
In pure Browns fashion, they have a strange situation in their quarterbacks room. The team drafted Gabriel, traded for Kenny Pickett and signed Joe Flacco, and all of them will compete for the starting job with Deshaun Watson expected to miss the entire the 2025 campaign.
