OKC Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers: Two of the top point guards in the league dual it out

14 hours ago 1

When it comes to Christmas Day games in the NBA, usually the most electrifying, star-studded great teams get the spotlight. However, for some reason, the West's number-one seeded Oklahoma City Thunder did not get scheduled and it rubbed some fans the wrong way.

Fortunately, the Thunder are back in action the day after Christmas with a roadtrip to Indianapolis to play the Pacers on national television.

Time and Location

The OKC Thunder will take on the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse today, Dec. 26, at 7:00 PM EST/6:00 PM CST as well as on NBA TV and FanDuel Sports Network - Oklahoma.

Lineups

For Oklahoma City, this is how they should look at tipoff:

Position:Name:Number:
Point GuardShai Gilgeous-Alexander2
Shooting GuardCason Wallace22
Small ForwardLu Dort5
Power ForwardJalen Williams8
CenterIsaiah Hartenstein55

As for Indiana, this is what their potential lineup may look:

Small ForwardBennedict Mathurin2
Power ForwardPascal Siakam45
CenterMyles Turner33

Injuries

For the Thunder, Chet Holmgren (hip), Alex Caruso (undisclosed), Nikola Topic (ACL) and Branden Carlson (concussion) are all out for tonight's matchup.

As for the Pacers, Myles Turner is listed as day-to-day with an oblique injury. Aaron Nesmith (ankle), Isaiah Jackson (calf) and James Wiseman (calf) are all out for the game.

What to know

The Thunder's last game was at home against the Wizards and took care of business in their 123-105 victory. With SGA putting up 41 points and nearly ten rebounds, the OKC offense and defense was clicking on all cylinders against the worst team in the East.

Although the Pacers currently have a record of 15-15 and sit at ninth in the East, they are nothing to scoff at. Heading by Haliburton, who is fifth in the league in assists and tenth in total three-pointers made this season, this All-Star point guard matchup will be great to witness.

As a team, the Pacers are fourth in the NBA in field goal percentage and definitely live up to their team name. Indiana currently ranks second in miles per game and are fifth in team average speed, so they love pushing the 'pace'.

This is, of course, nothing new for OKC. The Thunder thrive in scoring off of turnovers and get out in transition as much as possible. Their defense will surely be tested tonight, but Oklahoma City is well-rested for this run-and-gun matchup.
