A 50-year-old woman was found dead in her Morris Heights apartment building with trauma to her head and body, cops said.

Police responded to a 911 call and found Susan Longton, 50, unconscious and unresponsive in her third-floor apartment with “signs of trauma” on her body and head on Saturday around 9:39 a.m., police said.

Longton was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Residents of the building were left shaken.

“She was quiet, stayed to herself, no problem around here,” John Smith, 50, said of Longton.

Chris Sandford, 39, said that he moved in the building around the same as Longton two years ago. They were fast friends, he said.

“She was always really nice,” Sandford said.

Sandford also recalled sometimes seeing Longton sick and walking with a cane or an oxygen tank, but was unsure if she suffered from any “particular illness.”

The city’s medical examiner’s office will officially determine a cause of death, cops said.
