It was unclear Tuesday whether the victim – who was treated on the scene for minor injuries – was wearing distinctive religious garb at the time of the attack.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident, police said.
The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a black and white jacket, dark-colored pants and black shoes, cops said.
Footage released by the department shows the ruffian jumping the turnstile on his way into the station.
