Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, deactivated an old X account after a series of resurfaced posts showed her praising Palestinian terrorists, bashing Israel and criticizing the US military.
The Big Apple’s 28-year-old first lady – who has faced backlash over her social media history the past two weeks – took down the account a day after the Washington Free Beacon revealed a flurry of alarming posts she made on X and Tumblr in her teens and early 20s.
While her X account – under username @_RamaDee – was deleted as of Thursday, Duwaji’s public Instagram page, which has 2 million followers, remains active.
The socialist mayor’s wife has come under fire for her past digital activity after it emerged last week she liked Instagram posts celebrating Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, including one claiming rapes carried out by the terror group against hostages and victims were a “mass hoax.”
Controversial posts unearthed Wednesday by the Beacon – partly linked to her through facial recognition – showed her inflammatory content dates back to 2013, when she was reportedly 15.
In one 2015 post, she raged that Tel Aviv “shouldn’t exist in the first place,” calling its residents “occupiers,” and dropped the N-word in another post two years earlier.
On her now-inactive Tumblr, she hailed Palestinian plane hijacker Leila Khaled and members of the Popular Front for the LIberation of Palestine, while reposting a tirade accusing US service members of “mercilessly slaughtering 3rd world civilians” to maintain “American hegemony.”
A December 2015 repost also blamed white people for the creation of al Qaeda, the outlet reported.
Duwaji has remained silent amid the uproar and City Hall has not answered requests for comment.
However, her husband, a vocal critic of Israel, has jumped to defend his wife’s disturbing digital footprint.
“My wife is the love of my life, and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall,” Mamdani, 34, told reporters last week.
“I, however, was elected to represent all 8.5 million people in the city. And I believe that it’s my responsibility because of that role to answer questions about my thoughts and my politics, and my stances.”
