The Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder face off in Game 6 with OKC one win away from a Western Conference Finals trip. Game 6 is in Denver on Thursday and the Nuggets are coming off a 112-105 loss to the Thunder on Tuesday on the road.
Well, hours before the game, the Nuggets got some tough injury news regarding star guard Jamal Murray. Murray is now questionable with an illness, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
"Nuggets guard Jamal Murray (illness) has been added to the injury report. He’s questionable for Game 6."
Murray's performance in the series has been up and down. In Game 1, he had 21 points on 6-of-16 from the field and he then scored just 14 points in the 43-point blowout loss in Game 2.
In Game 5, Murray played just under 42 minutes, scoring 28 points but on 10-of-27 from the field including a 3-of-13 clip from 3-point land.
Still, Murray is an important part of the Nuggets team, and if he misses the game it would likely mean more minutes for veteran Russell Westbrook.
In Game 5, the Nuggets went with a thin eight-man rotation, and Westbrook had just four points on 1-of-7 from the field, which was not an encouraging sight.
Now, Murray sitting out an elimination game with an illness would be surprising, unless he really can't go. But, it will be something to monitor with tip off approaching.
