The conclusion of the 2025 EuroBasket tournament came yesterday, with Germany defeating Turkey 88-83 in a tightly contested championship game. In the loss, former NBA forward Cedi Osman delivered one of his best performances of the summer.
Behind Alperen Sengun, Osman was the game’s second-leading scorer with 23 points. He showed tremendous stamina as well, playing the full 40 minutes — the only player from either team to remain on the floor the entire game.
When he was out there, Osman produced at a high level, shooting 7-for-13 overall and 6-for-9 from 3-point range. In nine games for Turkey at EuroBasket, he averaged 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists while hitting 55.2% of his 3-point attempts.
For a team like the Denver Nuggets, Osman could be a sensible fit. With one roster spot left heading into the 2025-26 season, his size, length and shooting ability would give Denver added depth on the wing. Playing alongside Nikola Jokic, Osman’s floor-spacing could be especially valuable as a spot-up shooter who thrives when defenses collapse inside.
In seven NBA seasons, Osman posted a career 35.7% mark from 3-point range, including a career-best 38.9% with San Antonio during the 2023-24 season — his most recent stint in the league. Last season, he played with Panathinaikos in Greece, averaging 9.6 points across 39 games while sharing the floor with former Nugget Juancho Hernangomez and former Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn.
At only 30 years old, Osman still has plenty of time to return to the NBA, and with the Nuggets’ current roster needs, he could prove to be an ideal fit.
