Notre Dame vs. Purdue predictions, odds, spread, how to watch

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 0-2 this season, after advancing to the National Championship game just a year ago. It has not been an easy start to the season, facing Miami on the road and Texas A&M. Notre Dame was on an early bye week after the Miami game, which is why they've only played two games, but the perennial Natty contender and college football powerhouse is on the verge of being left out of the rankings.

However, the toughest part of their schedule is behind them, and if they want to make the College Football Playoff once again, outside help is likely needed, and they can't afford to drop another game.

This Saturday, Notre Dame takes on the 2-1 Purdue Boilermakers and comes in as a big favorite.

Purdue vs. Notre Dame odds, spread, O/U

Let's take a closer look at the odds of this contest and where you can find betting value in the game market.

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook:

Moneyline: Notre Dame -3500, Purdue +1280 (10 to win 128)

Spread: Notre Dame -25.5 (-105)

O/U: 51.5 (-110, -110)

Game prediction/ best bet

Best bet: Notre Dame -25.5

This one I'm not going to overthink. There is no value on the moneyline, and it's unclear how much offense Purdue will be able to provide for the over. My best bet here would be to take Notre Dame to cover the spread of 26 points. They are 0-2 and have a very capable offense, but things have not gone their way. Marcus Freeman and Co. will want to prove that they aren't some slack-off team that is going to have an unsuccessful season.

Player prop: Malachi Fields anytime TD (+135)

Going to throw in a little player prop action for this game as well, and I love the value of Malachi Fields being an anytime TD scorer. He's emerging as CJ Carr's top target, and this is a great game to get him in the end zone. If Notre Dame is scoring early and often, this bet would likely cash.
