The Missouri Valley Football Conference title could be on the line in this featured matchup.
North Dakota State (9-1, 6-0 MVFC) hosts Missouri State (8-2, 6-0 MVFC) in the second to last regular season game of the season. The winner has the chance to earn the MVFC championship with other MVFC losses.
The Bison are the top seed in the MVFC, having only lost one game to Colorado to begin the season. They've since won nine straight and can clinch the title with a win over Missouri State and a South Dakota loss.
Missouri State has won eight straight after losing the first two games of the season. The Bears can win the title with a victory over North Dakota State, a South Dakota loss and a South Dakota State loss.
That said, the Bears can't qualify for the FCS playoffs due to NCAA rules. Missouri State will join Conference USA and the FBS next year, making the program ineligible to compete in the 2024 FCS playoffs.
The regular-season title remains in play for the Bears, however. If they were to capture it, the next best team in the MVFC would earn the automatic bid to the FCS playoffs.
