The Miami Heat have had a rocky year filled with both good and bad results. They have had a lot of good performances this season, but the most consistent has been Norman Powell, who is playing in his first season for the team.
He is playing even better than his 2024-25 campaign with the Los Angeles Clippers. With averages of 23 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, Powell is performing at his highest level.
Powell continues to get plaudits for his performances
Powell has cemented himself as one of the best players on the Heat roster. Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro often get the praise for their performances, especially because they were Heat draft picks.
However, Powell has emerged as the top offensive player for the Heat. Of course, Herro has been sidelined with all kinds of injuries this season, but Powell has proven he deserves to be in All-Star conversations.

Despite the Heat being in the Play-In Tournament, they are only three games away from the fourth seed. The Heat have won 26 games on the back of Powell being a crucial cog in head coach Erik Spoelstra's system.
This has led to Powell receiving deserved plaudits from the media, including from ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
"I'll give you a guy if he made the team, who would play full speed, Norman Powell. He wanted to make it so bad last year with the Clippers that he got traded. He's having a better year with the Heat," Windorst said on ESPN's NBA Today.
"Look, I know the Heat are in the Play-In right now, they've had a lot of stuff go on with this roster, Norm has been a vital piece going forward."
As the Heat continue to embark on their campaign, they want to reach the postseason. Powell will be a crucial cog for the team, and they will continue to emerge as a likely All-Star.
