Noles fight for 3-star QB over non-traditional school

Some good news out of Tallahassee, where Florida State has landed a commitment from 3-Star QB, Logan Flaherty. Flaherty stays close to home, being from Port Charlotte, Florida, where he played high school ball at Port Charlotte High School.

Flaherty threw for 2,636 yards and 27 touchdowns at a 61% clip while adding 595 rush yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in his junior season. As a starter in 36 games in high school thus far, he’s led his team to a 25-9 record.

He originally committed to another Florida school in UCF, back in October 2025 before eventually announcing his decommitment from the school later on in April 2026. Flaherty brings the total number of commitments to seven for the Noles 2027, which currently ranks 32nd in the 2027 cycle.

Tough times in Tallahassee

This is in no way a knock on Flaherty, as he brings a high floor with plenty of mobility that fits what the Seminoles are used to on offense. However, the Noles went to battle with Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina.

The fact that they had to go toe-to-toe with out-of-state schools and non-traditional ones at that for an in-state prospect is telling for just how things are going right now for Mike Norvell and company.
