Nick Saban is linked to the vacant LSU Tigers coaching gig. CFB alerts on Instagram posted a graphic of Saban being heavily linked to the Tigers on Wednesday.

Saban's daughter, Kristen, caught wind of the post and took to the comment section to address the rumors. Kristen Saban did so in a humorous way as she posted a GIF with the words,

"THAT'S A REAL QUICK NO"

It's important to note that Saban coached the LSU Tigers from 2000 to 2004. He won his first national championship in Louisiana and earned numerous accolades during his time with the Tigers.

Saban left the Tigers and embarked on a brief spell coaching in the NFL. He then returned to collegiate football with the Alabama Crimson Tide. He built a dynasty in Alabama and retired as arguably the most successful head coach in collegiate football.

Nick Saban is the betting favorite to be the next LSU coach

So, it's no wonder that betting sites and Las Vegas have Nick Saban as the runaway favourite for the currently vacant LSU Tigers job. He's the most accomplished coach on the market, plus he has a history of success at LSU.

BetOnline has Saban as a +200 favorite to lead the Tigers next. His odds are better than Lane Kiffin, Joe Brady, and others in the running. Here's a look at the site's top five:

  1. Nick Saban: +200
  2. Lane Kiffin: +375
  3. Joe Brady: +400
  4. Clark Lea: +500
  5. Dan Lanning: +700

Lane Kiffin is the next candidate on the list. Kiffin is currently the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels and is one of the most highly regarded coaches at the collegiate level. Kiffin is also linked to the vacant Florida, Penn State, and New York Giants (NFL) gigs.

Other candidates to watch are Joe Brady, Clark Lea, and Dan Lanning. All three are accomplished coaches, and they could bring something unique to the LSU Tigers. It'll be interesting to see who the program goes with.

In the meantime, the LSU Tigers have a game against the Arkansas Razorbacks up next. They're currently 5-4, so it's a chance to secure bowl game eligibility with games to spare. Here's what you need to know about the game:

  • Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025
  • Livestream: FuboTV and DAZN
  • Time: 12:45 p.m. ET
  • TV Channel SEC Network
  • Venue: Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
