Nick Robertson shares how his brother Jason is connected to his trade to Penguins

When Nicholas Robertson was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, everyone was thinking the same thing.

Could this mean they'd go after his brother Jason?

Nick isn't a bad player by any means. He'll be useful to the Penguins.

But it's Jason who is the prize. He's a restricted free agent set to go to salary arbitration with the Dallas Stars, and it's not even clear they can fit him under their salary cap number anyway.

Jason has been involved in plenty of trade rumors, too. The early ones featured the Ottawa Senators, but lately it's been more about the Penguins.

Pittsburgh would likely have to pull off a sign-and-trade to get Jason from Dallas, but it's definitely possible.

Nick, though, pushed back just a little bit when he appeared on radio on Thursday. On the OverDrive show, he made it clear that these situations aren't necessarily connected:

"My situation is a little different than his. He's got his thing and I look forward to how that plays out" 🤣

That's not going to slow Penguins fans down too much, though. The idea of getting the 45-goal, 51-assist Jason Robertson to come play with his brother is too tantalizing.

It's certainly not off the table yet.
