Nick Bosa injury update: 49ers star questionable to return vs. Seahawks after aggravating sore hip

1 hour ago 1

The 49ers have dealt with injuries up and down their offense this season, but the defense has enjoyed much better fortune in 2024. Eight defensive starters have played every game, including former Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa.

Bosa, however, exited Sunday's game against the Seahawks in the second half, just when the 49ers saw Seattle take the lead in what will be a consequential game for the NFC West standings.

Bosa has missed just one game since the start of the 2021 season, keeping himself on the field after an ACL tear ended his 2020 season in the opening weeks, but his injury Sunday was an aggravation of an ailment he dealt with leading up to the game.

Here are the latest updates on Bosa's injury and his status going forward.

Nick Bosa injury update

Bosa exited Sunday with a hip injury and was listed as "questionable" to return by the 49ers.

The 49ers star appeared to aggravate the same injury he had been dealing with in the days before Sunday's game. Bosa told reporters earlier in the week that the hip issue was "probably the worst thing [he's] had to play through," but he was reported to be "good to go" after going through his normal warmup routine on Sunday.

Bosa was seen with a wrap on his hip during the fourth quarter and didn't come back out after the 49ers took the lead, indicating he might not return at all.

Bosa has been gutting it out through the injury, so he might be able to get back on the field in Week 12 against the Packers even if returning against the Seahawks isn't a wise decision. Still, the mere fact he aggravated an already painful injury might make fans wonder if he can be as effective as he usually is down the stretch this season.
