The Post’s Dylan Svoboda takes a look at this week’s betting trends and storylines.
Baker’s MVP case
As we noted last week, Josh Allen is running away with the NFL MVP award, but there’s an unlikely entrant to the race after another impressive win on Sunday.
Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield now has the third-best odds (+950) to win the 2025 MVP following yet another comeback win.
Mayfield led Tampa Bay down the field for his fourth game-winning drive of the season, taking down fellow NFC playoff contender Seattle Seahawks to improve to 4-1.
On the season, Mayfield has thrown for 1,283 yards while completing 65.1 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and just one interception.
A new favorite in the NFC
Bettors are losing faith in the defending champs.
After the Eagles blew a double-digit lead for the first loss of the season against the Broncos, they’ve been replaced as the favorites to win the NFC.
The Lions, who blew out the Bengals on the road to improve to 4-1, are the new favorites at DraftKings (+340).
Philadelphia was also passed by the Packers (+425), who were on bye.
Even before the loss, the Eagles’ odds to return to the Super Bowl had been slowly falling amid some internal turmoil and shaky wins.
They’ll have a quick turnaround on Thursday when they visit the Giants.

Underdogs revenge
After a relatively breezy first four weeks for big favorites, survivor leagues had their first true bloodbath during Week 5.
On Thursday night, the Rams opened the week with an upset loss as a 7.5-point favorite against Mac Jones and the 49ers.
The Cardinals had perhaps the worst loss of the week.
Arizona blew a 21-6 halftime lead to the lowly Titans, thanks, in large part, to a boneheaded play by Emari Demercado.
Then, Sunday night, the Bills were upset by the Patriots, giving Drake Maye his first signature win of his NFL career.

Faith in the Ravens
The Ravens are having a season from hell.
With Lamar Jackson sidelined on Sunday, the Ravens were blown out by the Texans to fall to 1-4, which is tied with the Browns for the worst record in the AFC North.
Despite the terrible start, Baltimore is still the favorite in the division.
The Ravens (+100) are currently edging out the Steelers (+125), who are 3-1 after their bye week.
Jackson’s status for next week’s game against the Rams is still up in the air, but reports indicate he should be able to return by Week 8 after Baltimore’s bye.
