NFL Week 1 coverage map: Full TV schedule for CBS, Fox regional broadcasts

Football is back. While the 2026 NFL season started on Wednesday night in Seattle, it might start in earnest for most fans with the first Sunday slate of games.

While the NFL seems to sprinkle more and more games on days other than Sunday in this era, there are still 13 games kicking off on the first Sunday of the season, with all but one on either CBS or Fox.

The Week 1 slate includes a pivotal NFC North matchup between the Packers and Vikings and a potential playoff preview right in Week 1 between the Bills and Texans as both teams set their sights on what they hope will be stellar seasons.

No rookie quarterback will start in Week 1, but veterans like Aaron Rodgers and up-and-coming signal callers such as Cam Ward will all take the field for the first time in 2026.

13 of Week 1's 16 games will be played on Sunday, including 12 split between CBS and Fox. Both CBS and Fox will handle six games, including four each at 1 p.m. ET and two each at 4:25 p.m. ET. CBS' top team, led by Jim Nantz, will call Packers vs. Vikings in Minnesota, while Fox's top crew, led by Kevin Burkhardt, will be in Philadelphia to call Commanders vs. Eagles.

Week 1 began with the Seahawks hosting the Patriots in Wednesday's kickoff game, followed by the NFL's first-ever game in Australia between the 49ers and Rams.
