The NFL trade deadline is on the horizon, and one of the biggest storylines of the November 4 deadline is the wide receiver market.
A plethora of teams are looking to bolster their wide receiver rooms at the deadline, but it's currently unknown which receivers will be on the market. Luckily, ESPN's Adam Schefter gave an update on the status of the market and even provided a receiver whom he believes has a high chance of getting moved.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter said that he believes the New Orleans Saints are more than willing to trade wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.
Schefter also added the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Denver Broncos as three prominent teams pursuing receivers.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, and other teams have made calls on wide receivers," Schefter said. "The New Orleans Saints are sitting on a collection of wide receivers, and I believe at least one will be dealt."
"If I had to bet, Rashid Shaheed interests most teams for his speed and talent. I think the Saints would be willing to part with [Shaheed] if the compensation is fair and right," Schefter added.
With Shaheed in the final year of his deal and the Saints sitting at 1-7, it would be wise for the team to trade the speedy receiver and get some value back.
Shaheed has tallied 39 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns this season, and during his last healthy season in 2023, he posted 719 yards and five touchdowns.
The Steelers, Bills, and Broncos could all use more talent in their receiver rooms to aid their star quarterbacks, but Pittsburgh seems most destined to make a move. Mike Tomlin's group has a glaring need for a capable No.2 opposite DK Metcalf, and though they made a trade for safety Kyle Dugger from the New England Patriots on Tuesday, the Steelers likely aren't done.
Pairing Metcalf with Shaheed would give Pittsburgh an exciting tandem, but the Saints receiver would also be a nice fit in Buffalo or Denver. We'll see where Shaheed ends up landing if New Orleans decides to move on.
