The Jaguars and Texans concluded the 2026 London slate in Week 6, an AFC South showdown that took center stage on Sunday morning as Marvin Harrison Jr. made his debut for Houston.

Early in the action, however, play was paused in the first quarter for an injury — but not to a player.

NFL official Larry Smith was carted off the field after slipping on the field at Wembley Stadium.

Here's what happened to Smith and a look at the moment he was taken off the field on a cart.

With the Texans and Jaguars still scoreless in the first quarter on Sunday, Smith needed to be attended to, leading to a delay while he was down on the field.

Smith appeared to slip on the wet field conditions at Wembley Stadium, and after he tried to get up, he fell again in between plays. Trainers from both teams then came out to attend to him.

Per NBC Sports, Smith's full-time job is working as a school principal in Kansas City, Kansas, and he is in his second year officiating in the NFL.

In his absence, the NFL has protocols in place to call a game with six officials instead of seven, with another official taking over Smith's responsibilities as umpire.
