NFL makes incredible Pro Bowl decision on Bengals' Joe Flacco after Shedeur Sanders news

The Cincinnati Bengals have seen Tee Higgins be a late add to the Pr oBowl roster, as Zay Flowers dropped out. He and Ja'Marr Chase are both Pro Bowlers, being the first WR duo for the Bengals to make the Pro Bowl in the same season since 2007.

But that's not the only exciting Pro Bowl news for the Bengals in the days leading up to the festivities. A different Bengals offensive player is now a Pro Bowler, and it's not who most would expect.

As Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team shared on Twitter/x, the NFL has made a decision to bring Bengals QB Joe Flacco to the Pro Bowl.

Bengals' Joe Flacco named to Pro Bowl

"Bengals QB Joe Flacco has been added to the Pro Bowl roster, the first of his career," Meirov reported Friday afternoon.

Flacco is 41 years old and has been in the NFL for 18 seasons. This Pro Bowl nod from the NFL is his only Pro Bowl in his very long NFL career.

This news for Flacco comes amid the NFL's decision to bring Shedeur Sanders to the Pro Bowl last week. Sanders struggled in his few starts in his rookie year, but he did go 3-4 as a starter for the Browns.

Flacco, meanwhile, between time with the Cleveland Browns and the Bengals in 2025, went 2-8 in 10 starts, four with Cleveland and six with the Bengals.

He threw for 2,479 total passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in his playing time this season. He was much better with the Bengals, throwing for 13 TDs and four interceptions, but overall, his numbers aren't Pro Bowl caliber.

But, with players backing out of the Pro Bowl due to injury or for other reasons, the NFL is trying to find players who will participate in the Pro Bowl, and the AFC quarterback room is the prime example of how shaky things can get.

Flacco and Sanders, two quarterbacks who didn't start much for their teams, and when they did, they weren't superstars, were named to the Pro Bowl.

But, for Flacco, it's a nice honor to receive after nearly two decades in the NFL playing quarterback for six teams in his long NFL career, which began in 2008.
