An NFL draft bust’s rookie card somehow sold for a small fortune at an auction over the weekend.

According to Fanatics Collect, a Josh Rosen 2018 Panini Kaboom piece fetched $26,400 on Saturday — this despite the former first-round pick only logging snaps in 24 career games.

While the green trading card is perhaps Rosen’s rarest — it actually has the words “One of One” imprinted on its front — it’s not often mementos from players who have just 12 career touchdowns net five figures on the block.

Social media users were quick to joke that Rosen or a Rosen family member were the ones who bought it. But industry insiders pointed out it’s far more likely someone who was trying to complete their 2018 Panini Kaboom set scooped it up.

After being taken by the Cardinals with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Josh Rosen played just 14 games for Arizona. AP

Fanatics Collect stated the price tag for the card now makes it an all-time Rosen record and “5x higher than the previous record.”

The previous high for a Rosen card was reportedly set in 2019, when one sold for $5,268.

Rosen, a standout at UCLA, was taken by the Cardinals with the 10th selection of the 2018 NFL Draft, just three picks behind Josh Allen and 22 picks ahead of Lamar Jackson.

He played just one season for Arizona, and threw 11 touchdowns to 14 interceptions in 14 total games.

He was traded to the Dolphins in 2019, and played in just six career games for Miami.

He went on to only play in four more games in his NFL career — all with Atlanta in 2021.
