The Denver Broncos are loading up on what was already a strong defense coming into the 2025 NFL Draft. After trading back into the third round to select LSU edge rusher Sai'vion Jones, the Broncos have added another SEC pass rusher, taking Alabama's Que Robinson with the No. 134 overall pick.
Robinson was a player who came up the ranks at Alabama, one of the top programs in the country. After playing primarily on special teams, he registered four sacks for the Crimson Tide last season. The Broncos are banking on taking advantage of a lot of untapped potential with this player.
The Broncos have Nik Bonitto, Jonathon Cooper and Jonah Ellis as their top outside pass rushers. The team added Jones in the third round, but he projects best as a player who lines up on the defensive line. Behind the top three, the Broncos needed more depth to go along with Dondrea Tillman, and that is where Robinson will get his chance.
This pick was made with more of an eye toward the future, but George Paton and Sean Payton have identified an entire class of picks to this point that don't really fall in line with what the draft experts were saying. Instead, they have taken players they feel best fit what they are building while keeping the areas that are strong (secondary, pass-rushing) good for years to come.
He is a true unknown in a lot of ways as he could develop into an every-down pass-rusher or see his ceiling be as a fringe roster guy who makes a career on special teams.
Barring any trades, the Broncos have just one more selection in this draft. That is pick No. 197 in the sixth round.
