Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson faces an immense amount of pressure this offseason.
The former No. 4 overall pick not only needs to prove he can stay healthy, but he now has to battle with Daniel Jones for the starting role in the Colts offense.
When looking at the players with the most to lose in 2025, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report predicts that Richardson will be on the outside looking if things continue to be as they have been.
"There may not be pressure from outside onlookers yet, but make no mistake—there’s plenty of it on Richardson as we move toward the offseason. Because unless Richardson shows marked improvement as a passer in camp, Jones is going to be the Colts Week 1 starter," Knox wrote. "And Richardson will be one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory."
It would be a tough look for Richardson, who is still just 22 years old, to lose the starting role to Jones following the latter's tumultuous departure from the New York Giants.
The current regime running the Colts also finds itself in a difficult spot. They need to win, which means putting the best player on the field in order to achieve that goal. However, Richardson's failure to beat out Jones would be a severe indictment on their evaluation.
OTAs don't begin until May 28, and the Colts have already admitted that Richardson and Jones will split reps during the offseason workout program.
Limiting Richardson's reps will only make his time on the field more crucial throughout the offseason.
