Newcastle United and Athletic Club will battle for three points in a UEFA Champions League fixture on Wednesday (November 5th). The game will be played at St. James' Park.
The home side will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of letting a lead slip in a 3-1 defeat away to an out-of-sorts West Ham in the Premier League over the weekend. Jacob Murphy gave them the lead in the fourth minute to seemingly set the tone for the game but Lucas Paqueta equalized in the 35th minute while Sven Botman's own goal in first-half injury time put the Hammers ahead. Tomas Soucek made sure of the result deep into injury time.
Bilbao, meanwhile, fell to a 3-2 defeat away to arch-rivals Real Sociedad in the Basque derby in La Liga. Brais Mendez gave Sociedad the lead in the 38th minute while Gorka Guruzeta equalized four minutes later. Goncalo Guedes restored the hosts' lead in the opening minutes of the second half but Robert Navarro equalized. Jon Gorrotxategi scored the match-winner in the seventh minute of injury time.
The Lions will shift their focus to the continent, where their last game saw them claim a 3-1 home win over Qarabag. Newcastle cruised to a 3-0 home win over Benfica.
The win left the Magpies in eighth spot in the UCL standings with six points from three games. Bilbao are 21st on three points.

Newcastle United vs Athletic Club Prediction
Newcastle United have made an impressive start to their UCL campaign, having rebounded from losing their opening game to Barcelona with successive three-goal wins.
Bilbao have had a hard time against English opposition and have already lost three games against English clubs this year alone. They are aiming to avoid becoming only the second Spanish side to lose four games to an English side in one year.
We expect the home side to claim a comfortable win with goals at both ends.
Prediction: Newcastle United 3-1 Athletic Club
