The New York Knicks will face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in another highly anticipated event. After beating the Spurs 124-113 in the NBA Cup Final on Dec. 16, the Knicks look to hand the home team another loss. New York hopes to overcome the absence of Josh Hart (ankle), Mitchell Robinson (injury management) and Shamet Landry (shoulder).
Meanwhile, the suddenly reeling Spurs look to end their slump. After beating the OKC Thunder in back-to-back games last week, they lost to Utah, 127-114, on Saturday and to Cleveland, 113-101, on Monday. Victor Wembanyama put up impressive numbers in the past two games but could not lead his team to a victory.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs preview
The Knicks will be missing multiple players who played key roles in their NBA Cup win against the Spurs. Without Josh Hart and Tyler Kolek, the Knicks will lean even more on Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby.
New York knows San Antonio will be raring to win the rematch, so it has to be ready for a 48-minute struggle. The Knicks’ big-game experience, which proved to be crucial in their first encounter, might be needed once more in the Alamo.
The Spurs surprisingly lost back-to-back games following Victor Wembanyama’s return to the starting lineup. While Wemby dazzled, he could not help overcome his team’s 3-point shooting woes. The Spurs shot 23% from deep in their consecutive losses.
Devin Vassell, shooting 37.9% from rainbow distance this season, is out with a groin injury. The home team will likely be in trouble again if it can’t find its shooting touch.
Stephon Castle is also questionable due to a left thumb sprain. If he’s out, San Antonio will need everyone to step up on defense while De’Aaron Fox will be badly needed for playmaking.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs betting tips
Jalen Brunson is averaging 30.8 points per game in December on 48.0% shooting, including 40.4% from deep. Against the Spurs’ hobbled perimeter, the NBA Cup MVP could roll past his 28.5 (O/U) points prop.
Victor Wembanyama had an up-and-down game in the first meeting with the Knicks, finishing with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting. However, he seems to have found his rhythm again since returning to the starting lineup. Wemby could top his 25.0 (O/U) points prop.
New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs prediction
The San Antonio Spurs seem to play with more urgency with their backs to the wall and against top competition. Wembanyama relishes playing against the Eastern conference powerhouse. With both teams missing key players, the Spurs could edge the New York Knicks after a slugfest.
