The New York Jets have many ways to look at their options at quarterback, and with multiple draft picks and more, there are a few ways the Jets can go about this.
One insider believes a potential trade with the Tennessee Titans could be something that makes sense.
During a recent discussion, longtime Jets insider Rich Cimini of ESPN floated a hypothetical deal involving Titans quarterback Will Levis and Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood.
“Maybe there is a Jamien Sherwood for Will Levis deal in the offing here coming up,” Cimini said. “Well, the Jets don’t have a lot of tradeable commodities.
“Who is the middle linebacker for Tennessee? I’m not even sure. The contract, that is the issue there. [Robert] Saleh discovered him, basically. He made him what he was. So if they’re willing to take on the money, maybe there is another deal there.”
Levis, who has shown promise throughout his career but is coming back from an injury, could become an intriguing option as the Titans went with Cam Ward last season. For the Jets, adding a young quarterback with starting experience could add some intrigue to a rather boring room.
Cimini’s comments also highlighted the connection to new Titans head coach Robert Saleh, who played a role in Sherwood’s development.
On the surface, it could be a deal that makes sense for both sides.
