John Cena had an interview with the renowned Tom Rinaldi, and he made a heartbreaking confession ahead of his WWE retirement match that will take place in a little over 40 days.
In a little over 40 days, John Cena will compete in his last-ever match. He announced in a video package on Saturday Night's Main Event that starting from the RAW in Boston on November 10th, there will be a 16-man tournament to determine his final opponent in Washington, D.C.
But prior to that announcement, there was a snippet from the interview with Tom Rinaldi, where Cena heartbreakingly admitted that his skills don't match up to the current WWE product anymore. He said it was ok, but promised that he would never step into the ring again and that any WWE appearance he makes will be non-physical in nature.
"I made a promise to WWE that I would not stick around when my skills can't match the product, and they can't, and that's ok, because what I do isn't who I am. The realization of that has helped me be like, 'let these guys have it now'. Physical activity, 100%. I very rarely speak in absolutes because you never know. I do know in this case. Never again, because I don't want to let the people I made a promise to down."John Cena's last opponent leaked? Check here!
This is something that John Cena has repeated time and again. He intends to fulfill his dates and honor them by making sure he never wrestles again. This means we are essentially down to two matches for the greatest of all time, and December 13th is where it's all going to come to an end.
Emotions are going to be high in the coming months every time Cena comes out as the reality of his retirement finally sinks in for people.
