SPARC AI Inc.’s answer to [the] critical scaling problem is to stop treating position as something the aircraft has to compute for itself. Under the company’s proprietary Overwatch Positioning Network, a drone sends the sensor and telemetry data it is already generating to SPARC AI’s servers through an API, and the network calculates the aircraft’s position before returning coordinates back to the aircraft. The company describes the service as returning the location of a drone from a single telemetry query, with no new hardware, no new software and no airframe modification required.

Speed is central to making this architecture usable for fast-moving aircraft. According to the company, Overwatch currently returns a calculated position in roughly one-third of a second, a latency the company designed specifically to remain useful for drones operating in complex, fast-changing environments. Because the computation happens in memory, the customer telemetry and location data are not retained after a position is returned, an operational detail that matters for defense customers wary of data exposure.

About SPARC AI Inc.

Article content

SPARC AI is a defense technology company solving one of the most critical challenges in modern autonomous systems: accurate navigation and targeting when GPS is unavailable. The company’s AI-powered platform transforms the low-cost inertial sensors already inside commercial drones into precision instruments without additional hardware, external signals, or complex integration. SPARC AI’s software-only approach makes GPS-denied capability for target acquisition and navigation accessible at the price point and scale that modern drone operations demand, from single platforms to fleets of thousands.
