The Brooklyn Nets suffered a historic loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night, losing by 29 points.
Brooklyn was held to 92 points and scored only 11 points in the first quarter.
As a result, the Nets have lost 15 of their last 17 games, as they approach the worst record in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets received more bad news Thursday, pertaining to Michael Porter Jr.'s hamstring injury.
According to NBA insider Ian Begley, Porter Jr. will miss another two to three weeks with the injury. This news comes after an MRI, where Porter Jr. was diagnosed with a hamstring strain.
Porter Jr. has missed the last four games for the Nets, last playing against the Detroit Pistons (March 10).
When in the lineup this year, Porter Jr. has performed.
In 52 games he's averaging 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, three assists and 1.1 steals per game.
His points and assists per game averages would be new career marks, as Porter Jr. scored 19 points per game in his previous best season with the Nuggets (2020-21).
Without Porter Jr. in the lineup, the Nets will have a difficult time scoring.
Even with Porter Jr. for the majority of the year, the Nets rank dead last in points scored per game (106.4), 4.3 points behind the next closest team (Kings).
Now 17-52 on the year, Brooklyn will host their in-state rivals, the New York Knicks Thursday.
After that, they'll set out on a four-game West Coast road trip beginning Sunday in Sacramento.
