The Brooklyn Nets have struggled in the post-Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving era as they failed to reach the postseason for the second consecutive season. They have combined to go just 58-106 over that span.
While they have plenty of draft capital and remain in the midst of a rebuild, a recent proposal suggested that the Nets should go all-in on a superstar who could be on the move during the offseason.
"Potential trade framework: (Giannis) Antetokounmpo to the Nets for Nic Claxton, Noah Clowney, Keon Johnson and six first-round picks... Long before Lillard went down, Brian Lewis of the New York Post relayed that Antetokounmpo "has been and remains Plan A for the Nets," Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley wrote Wednesday. "Perhaps it was wishful thinking at the time, but dreams can come true. He's an obvious target for the organization, which ESPN's Brian Windhorst previously reported planned on "going star searching" this offseason. Stars don't shine much brighter than this. Antetokounmpo, who remains in the heart of his prime at 30 years old, has already earned MVP (twice), Defensive Player of the Year and Finals MVP honors. The tougher sell here is providing him with a championship blueprint in Brooklyn. The Nets lost 106 games over this season and last, and they're without both established stars and blue-chip prospects with obvious star potential."

Buckley noted that Brooklyn has plenty of cap space for free agency and enough assets to acquire Antetokounmpo and still pursue more talent via trade. He added that the franchise would be able to sell potential targets on playing with the two-time NBA MVP, Cam Thomas and Cam Johnson.
While there would not be much young talent going back to Milwaukee, the six first-round picks would be the real prize. The Bucks are lacking in draft capital and if they are to move on from Antetokounmpo, they would likely look for a major haul of picks in order to kickstart their rebuild.
