(Bloomberg) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to travel on Saturday to the US, where he is seeking a meeting with President Donald Trump, according to a person familiar with the matter.

US and Israeli officials have been in touch to coordinate a get-together, according to the person who requested anonymity to discuss the plans before they were public. A sit-down has not yet been finalized.

The White House and Netanyahu’s office declined to comment. Israeli media outlets reported earlier on the trip.

Netanyahu also plans to attend the funeral for Senator Lindsey Graham, the person said. Graham was an outspoken supporter of Israel. Details of the senator’s memorial services have not yet been announced.

The Israeli leader’s expected US visit comes at a pivotal moment in the war in Iran, where an interim peace deal between Tehran in Washington has all but collapsed. The two sides have resumed fighting amid a quarrel over the status of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global energy flows.

Trump and Netanyahu have shared a long and sometimes volatile partnership. The US and Israel jointly launched the war against Iran in late February with a wave of devastating bombing raids. Yet tensions flared between the two men once Trump turned to broker a ceasefire agreement. Last month, the US president swore at the Israeli leader for carrying out strikes in Lebanon that imperiled talks with Iran.

Over the past week, the US and Iran have traded strikes again, with American forces mostly targeting military sites close to the strait. The air campaign has been much less intense than during the height of the war, when major cities were under constant fire.

Israeli officials have said they are ready to rejoin the fighting if Iran targets their territory, a move that would bring the conflict a step closer back to a full-scale war.
