Less than 24 hours after the Celtics were eliminated from the playoffs, it was announced by Ramona Shelburne that Jaylen Brown played through a partially torn meniscus during the playoffs.
Brown was dealing with a knee issue at the end of the regular season that kept him out of some games down the stretch.
He later received pain injections to make the pain more manageable in March and get him through part of the postseason.

How will this affect Brown moving forward?
Brown's game wasn't the same during the postseason. He was able to put together some productive stat lines, but the main elephant in the room was his lack of explosiveness.
When Brown had an open lane to the basket, he would opt for a layup instead of dunking as he would if he was fully healthy.

Brown will be evaluated this week to see if he needs surgery or if it is something that can be managed/fixed through an additional route.
With an extended offseason ahead, Brown should have plenty of time either way to get treatment and be back for the beginning of next season.
Brown's name has been in rumors on social media as a trade candidate for teams, so that is something to keep an eye on for a very busy league-wide offseason ahead.
