The Golden State Warriors have enjoyed plenty of successful seasons since making the playoffs with Stephen Curry for the first time in 2012-2013, and they'll look to continue that trend in the twilight of his career.
In an effort to maximize the final years of Curry's Hall of Fame career, the Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler III and gave him a two-year, $112.6 million extension. Now, Golden State has its trio of Curry, Butler and Draymond Green locked in through the 2027-28 campaign.
The future of the Warriors beyond these aging stars remains uncertain, though they'll have an opportunity to remain in title contention in a stacked Western Conference for at least the next two years.

Warriors ranked top 10 in future power rankings
ESPN recently assessed the future outlook of all 30 NBA teams over the next three seasons, with NBA analyst Bobby Marks explaining why the Warriors were ranked No. 6.
“A team featuring three players 35 or older and under contract for only the next two seasons should be a cause of concern,” he wrote. “But if the 20-7 record after the All-Star break and first-round playoff series win against Houston were indications, then there is some staying power for Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler III and the rest of the Warriors’ roster.”
The Warriors impressed with Butler on the roster after a rough start to the season. They finished seventh in the West following a strong push after the All-Star break and ultimately defeated the second-seeded Houston Rockets in the opening round of the postseason.
However, their momentum was halted by Curry's strained left hamstring, which kept him out of the final four games of the Warriors’ second-round playoff exit to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Still, the team’s impressive post-All-Star break run leaves plenty of optimism, and they’ll have at least two more seasons to chase an NBA Finals appearance with Curry leading the way.
