Not everyone is celebrating Bam Adebayo’s record-setting 83-point performance against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
The way that Adebayo went about securing his 83 points – a lot of free throws and unnatural shot chucking – rubbed some people the wrong way.
During an episode of the Hoop Collective podcast following Adebayo’s historic game, ESPN NBA insider Tim MacMahon blasted Adebayo and the Heat for the performance.
“He’s jacking up 3s triple teamed? It was honestly just awful, hideous, disgusting basketball down the stretch,” MacMahon said.
“I never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, want to hear about Heat culture and professionalism and all that crap again, because that was the most blatant stat chasing I’ve ever seen. … It was embarrassing for the [W]izards and egregious for the Heat.”

Based on the reactions seen across social media, it seems like MacMahon wasn't the only person who felt that way about Adebayo's big game.
