NBA insider believes LeBron James has been pursued by Western Conference contender

For the past decade or so, a handful of players have dominated the NBA, but none more than LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

Two of the most influential players in history have battled on the court, making a name for themselves and changing the game as we know it.

As LeBron’s final season is potentially on the horizon, fans can only wonder if we will finally see the two legends team up for one last run.

The Stein Line's Marc Stein certainly believes so, and traces it back to 18 months ago when the interest in trading for James really began for the Golden State Warriors.

“I believe that the Warriors, who have shown an interest in acquiring James dating to the February 2024 trade deadline some 18 months ago, will remain in the mix if James ever does reach the point that he's looking for a last hurrah elsewhere,” Stein said Saturday.

“Without a public word on the matter from LeBron himself, it has nonetheless become a daily question posed almost everywhere you look in the NBA ecosystem: Does he actually want to finish his storied career elsewhere after seven seasons as a Laker?”

Stein, an NBA correspondent known for his credibility and strong connections with players across the league, could be dubbed one of the more trustworthy reporters in the basketball world.

James’ contract situation has been ongoing since the end of the season, mainly because he has felt he has not been prioritized, an unfamiliar feeling for one of the all-time greats.

Rumors have even surfaced that the Lakers are already preparing for a time without James on the team.

LeBron and Curry seemingly have an immense amount of respect for each other's crafts, so could it be possible that the Warriors are preparing to make a blockbuster trade next offseason?
