Nara Smith Shares Daughter Whimsy, 2, Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer
Nara Smith is showing off her most impressive creation yet.
Two days after the influencer—known for her baked-entirely-from-scratch culinary adventures—shared she and husband Lucky Blue Smith's 2-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou was diagnosed with cancer last year, she revealed how they've managed to find the slimmest of shimmery linings.
Showing off Whimy's fully bedazzled head in a July 3 Instagram post, Nara dubbed her toddler a "little warrior girl."
And she gave her nearly five million followers a glimpse into their journey with the disease, posting photos of Whimsy's shaved strands, a birthday spent in the hospital and other procedures she's undergone.
"Sharing something this vulnerable wasn’t an easy decision," the 24-year-old admitted, "but seeing every message, prayer, story of a similar experience and kindness has made it a little easier."
As she and her family—together she and her husband of six years are parents to Rumble Honey, 5, son Slim Easy, 3, Whimsy and 8-month-old daughter Fawnie Golden, plus he's dad to daughter Gravity, 8, with ex Stormi Bree—collect well-wishes from celebrities and other fans, she's spreading the love.
"To every family or parent walking through something heavy right now," she summed up her post, "we’re thinking of you too."

Two days earlier, in a post sharing her gratitude "for each and every nurse and doctor along our journey who helped us get through and out the other end," Nara detailed the arduous process her family had gone through.
"When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER and they didn’t quite know what to make of it," she recounted. "So we took her to our pediatrician. I just remember him going really quiet and calm and my heart dropped in that moment."
Proving a mother's intuition, she added, "The first thing I felt was, 'She has cancer.'"
Her greatest fears were confirmed following a series of X-rays, ultrasounds and a biopsy. "They told us it had spread and that she needs to come and start chemo treatments immediately," Nara revealed in her video. "Throughout all of this I have been on a plethora of forums, social media and also talked to parents and family in the hospital."
Doing so while also tending to her newborn daughter has been, well, challenging is an understatement.
“Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard," Nara acknowledged. "A lot of you have probably realized I’ve been posting a little bit less and this is the reason why. Having found all of this out and navigating this while postpartum, also loving and caring for our other kids at home, also being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging."
Ultimately, "Some days are a little easier," she admitted, "some days are really hard and all I can do is try my best and show up in all those areas in the best way I can."
But she'll continue striving for that perfect recipe.
And in the meantime, Nara added, "We wanted to share this to hopefully bring someone else that comfort—or even hopefully incentivize you to go check something out that you’ve been avoiding. I hope that by sharing this I can bring someone a little bit of comfort and make you feel a little less alone on your journey—whatever that may be."
