Nantes play host to Metz in a Ligue 1 match at the Stade de la Beaujoire this Sunday.
Both of these sides are in the bottom quarter of the Ligue 1 table, with Nantes in 15th and Metz at the foot of the table in 18th. Both sides, though, will be hoping for some valuable points here.
So who will leave with the spoils this weekend?
Nantes vs Metz Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
- Metz have a solid record against Nantes, as they have won in three of their last six meetings and have beaten them in their last two games, including at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
- After securing a solid win over Paris FC last weekend, Nantes were well beaten by Monaco in a pretty wild game this Wednesday. They fell to a 3-5 defeat in a game that saw a total of 37 shots on goal.
- Metz finally picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday in their 10th match of the campaign. Surprisingly, they beat high flyers Lens, defeating them 2-0. Unfortunately, the win was soured somewhat by a red card for Gauthier Hein, who was sent off after scoring his second goal for removing his shirt in celebration.
- Unlike Metz - who have had three players sent off this season - Nantes score highly in the disciplinary stakes. They are one of only three Ligue 1 clubs to not see a single red card at this point in the campaign.
- Metz may have kept a clean sheet on Wednesday, but it was a rarity. They have conceded 26 goals this season, including 18 in the five games leading up to their win over Lens.
Nantes vs Metz Prediction
It might be tempting to predict a Metz win here, as they did tremendously well to defeat Lens this week.
However, it's more likely that the win was an exception to the rule for Metz, particularly as they will not be in front of their home fans here and will be without top scorer Gauthier Hein due to his own error.
Given the amount of goals they shipped prior to Wednesday - and the fact that Nantes do at least seem capable of scoring - the prediction here is a home win.
Prediction: Nantes 2-0 Metz
