Nadaka Yoshinari ready to compete in the Circle for the very first time at ONE 173: “I can show you the new strategy”

Japanese Muay Thai firecracker Nadaka Yoshinari can’t wait to step inside the hallowed Circle for the very first time this weekend, when he heads home to Tokyo for ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri.

Nadaka will be taking on Thai star Numsurin Chor Ketwina for the inaugural ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title, and he’s excited to be fighting in a cage for the first time in his career.

Nadaka addressed questions from the media at the final ONE 173 press conference on Wednesday at Hilton Odaiba, and said he’s fully prepared for battle:

“Yes, of course. This is going to be a totally different match in the Circle cage. But, you know what, in my gym, they are generous enough to make a cage on the first floor. We only have a ring up until then, on the second floor. But I will be able to practice in the cage on the first floor of my gym. So thankfully, I get to practice a lot of strategy for the cage.”

Nadaka continued:

“Of course, in the ring, we are able to use ropes. But we can’t do that. But I think I can show you the new strategy I have, especially for the cage.”

ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri will take place live on Sunday, Nov. 16, from Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. North American fans can check out live.onefc.com to watch the event live via pay-per-view.

Nadaka eyes first ONE Championship gold

Nadaka Yoshinari will look to cement his legacy by winning the biggest prize in martial arts — the ONE Championship world title.

On Sunday, Nov. 16, he will get his chance. Nadaka told ONE that it’s something he’st taking very seriously, and he wants to leave it all in the Circle:

“As for my next challenge, winning the ONE belt would be a huge asset for me personally. So, I’m approaching this fight determined to give everything I’ve got — all the skills and experience I’ve forged until now.”
