Multiple Bundesliga clubs circle around Man City outcast

Manchester City's new era under Pep Guardiola is taking shape as their new signings are starting to make a significant impact at the Club World Cup

The Citizens are keen to return to contending for the Premier League title in the upcoming campaign, and so they have invested in some talented players across the field.

While City are investing heavily in their incoming, they also need to focus on their sales. Multiple players are linked with a move out of Manchester this summer.

Attacking midfielder James McAtee is one of the players who is frustrated with his game time and reportedly seeking a new challenge.

The young midfielder played a big role in helping England U21 win the U21 Euros in Slovakia. He came up with a crucial assist in the finals against Germany in their 3-2 win in extra time.

As per reports via Mail Online journalist Jack Guaghan, McAtee has attracted interest from five Bundesliga clubs following his exploits at the U21 Euros.

Bayer Leverkusen were the first Bundesliga club interested in the young Englishman. But now clubs like Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart are also interested in the City youngster.

Why is James McAtee forcing a move out of Man City?

McAtee netted seven goals in 27 matches for the Citizens last season. But his dreams of securing more gametime in the 2025/26 season were crushed when Pep Guardiola signed Rayan Cherki and Oscar Bobb has returned from an injury.

McAtee's decision not to travel with City to the United States for the Club World Cup was also vindicated as he guided England to the U21 Euros glory.

Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Leverkusen have stepped up their interest in the 22-year-old midfielder.

Meanwhile, Dortmund have also identified him as a replacement for Jamie Gittens, who is on the verge of joining Chelsea.

Similarly, VfB Stuttgart are already planning for a replacement of Nick Woltemade, who is keen to join Bayern Munich this summer. They see McAtee as a player fit for the role.

With only a solitary year left on his current contract with City, it would reportedly take a transfer fee above  £25m to lure the player out of the Etihad Stadium.
