MS NOW has denied Sen. John Fetterman’s claim that the network won’t invite him on, sharing screenshots of four times he appeared on the channel – though his team alleged those appearances were old.
The Democratic Pennsylvanian, who has frequently clashed with the far-left of his party over their views on Israel and socialism, told the Washington Examiner: “I hope you can print: ‘MSNBC won’t invite me on,’” using the network’s former name.
Fetterman, 56, said he frequently appears on Fox News, CNN, CBS and ABC, adding that he prefers speaking on news networks that “play things straight.”
“I don’t know why,” Fetterman said on why he hasn’t been invited back by MS NOW. “I mean, I’m a committed Democrat. I’m not sure what their editorial issue is with.”
He said “it’s really strange” that MS NOW would not invite a Senate Democrat who “votes a 90-something percent line here” on the network’s programs.
A spokesperson for MS NOW told The Post that “this claim is inaccurate.”
In a social media post Wednesday evening, MS NOW’s public relations team shared four screenshots of times Fetterman recently appeared on the network, speaking with “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski as well as anchor Katy Tur.
A spokesperson for Fetterman’s office told The Post that the screenshots were old, including two appearances from last year, and that the senator has not appeared on MS NOW since March.
“He never said the network banned him or he hasn’t been on, just that they simply stopped sending invites – which is accurate,” a representative for the senator told the Washington Examiner.
“Showing old materials because they have nothing new to reference isn’t the mic drop MS NOW thinks it is.”
The Washington Examiner said its analysis found Fetterman has appeared on Fox News at least 56 times since the start of the year and been a guest on CNN 13 times over the same period.
Fetterman has repeatedly clashed with far-leftist ideals, threatening to leave the Democratic Party over its declining support of Israel.
At the Hill Nation Summit last week, the Pennsylvanian claimed he has “no plans” to leave the party as of yet – but that could change if its support of Israel continues to weaken.
“If our party ever becomes – and just makes it official – the anti-Israel party, that’s when I would leave because that’s been a moral clarity for me,” Fetterman said.
He also slammed members of his party for “trying to ingratiate ourselves with that segment of the base of our voters [who] are intensely, intensely anti-Israel.”
The same day as those remarks, 103 House Democrats backed an amendment by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) to cut off $3.3 billion in defense support for Israel.
During a CNN appearance last week, Fetterman also took aim at Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed for his pro-Palestinian stance and for campaigning with Hasan Piker, a Twitch streamer and self-proclaimed socialist.
“Look at the kinds of people that we’ve elected in the primaries, not just pro-Palestinian, just intensely, intensely anti-Israel,” Fetterman said.
When asked what would prompt him to leave the party, he replied: “If they make [voting against Israel] the official platform of the party, then that’s a much different situation.”
Fetterman has also bashed NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani over his anti-Israel views and embrace of socialism.
Most recently, he called the 34-year-old mayor a “clown” for calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the Big Apple.
“Well, it’s such a tough guy to say that kind of thing. He has no way to do that,” Fetterman told Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures” over the weekend.
Mamdani has cited the International Criminal Court’s 2024 arrest warrant for Netanyahu over the war in Gaza, arguing the city does not have the power to detain the Israeli leader – but that the federal government can and should.
“Obviously, America’s not even part of that corrupt court, and so he’s just a clown to even say that. So he won’t try that,” Fetterman said.
“And now, just sit down and focus on the problems that they have in New York. That’s really not your purview.”
