Last month, Motorola's upcoming wide foldable smartphone finally got a leaked name - it will allegedly be called the Razr Flex. This has now been confirmed through a Geekbench listing. Apparently, someone in possession of a prototype Razr Flex decided to run Geekbench 6.7.1 on it, thus confirming the name (as much as such a run can, of course - things like this can be faked).

The benchmark run also revealed that the Razr Flex is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, which is notable because past rumors have claimed it would have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 instead. Anyway, the chipset is paired with 12GB of RAM in the prototype which was tested. Obviously, Motorola might offer more RAM options. The phone will launch running Android 17, unsurprisingly.

Motorola's wide Razr Flex hits Geekbench with a surprising chipset

Interestingly, its name may be Razr Flex 27, or Razr Flex 2027, and this is in line with Motorola’s naming scheme for devices it sells in North America. It also implies that the company isn't thinking of this as a one-off experiment, but has a successor already planned.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the Razr Flex managed a single-core score of 2,669 and a multi-core score of 8,837, but as always we caution you against taking such numbers too seriously, as they are from a prototype device's run and they're also in Geekbench 6, the results of which are not directly comparable to those in Geekbench 7.

According to previous rumors, the Razr Flex will have a 6.92-inch inner OLED folding screen with 2364x1728 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, a 4.97" OLED cover display with 1140x1736 resolution, a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, two 32MP selfie cameras, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W wireless charging. It weighs 215g and will be offered in Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden colors. It's expected to launch in mid-December.
