A week after debuting at No. 8 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, Motionless in White’s “Afraid of the Dark” jumps to No. 1 following its first full seven days of tracking.

“Afraid of the Dark” reigns on the Feb. 14-dated tally with 2.1 million official U.S. streams, 18,000 in airplay audience and 2,000 sold in the week ending Feb. 5, according to Luminate. It accrued 604,000 streams, 8,000 in radio reach and 1,000 sold from its Jan. 28 release through Jan. 29.

The rockers nab their first No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs, which began in 2020, surpassing their previous best of No. 5 for “Masterpiece” in 2022. Motionless in White has charted 13 entries on the ranking, including six top 10s.

“Afraid of the Dark” is the second newcomer to No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs in 2026 and the first non-holiday tune, following The Pretty Reckless’ rendition of “Where Are You Christmas?,” which led the Jan. 3 ranking. In between, Sleep Token’s “Caramel” ran up its No. 1 run to 14 weeks, dating to its first week on top last April.

Concurrently, “Afraid of the Dark” bows at No. 17 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Motionless in White’s fifth entry and highest-charting to date, exceeding “Masterpiece” (No. 32). It also logs a second week atop Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, having become Motionless in White’s third No. 1, following “Timebomb” in 2021 and “Masterpiece.”

“Afraid of the Dark” is currently a standalone single that follows 2022’s Scoring the End of the World, Motionless in White’s sixth studio album. The LP debuted at No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart that June and has earned 406,000 equivalent album units to date.

All Billboard charts dated Feb. 14 will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, Feb. 10.
